how we help

AD Consulting Engineers has been extensively involved in local government projects for over two decades, servicing this important sector for local council and community projects.

Working with some of Sydney’s most decorated architects in this space, AD has been the design/project engineer behind dozens of local government projects encompassing public amenities buildings for parks and ovals (e.g. public toilets and facilities), sporting facilities (e.g. change rooms, kiosks, clubhouses), playground furniture, and park landscaping (e.g. footpaths, retaining walls, accessibility).

AD has also been the design/project engineer for council and community projects including community centres, libraries, healthcare facilities, council depot buildings, council chambers and offices, and other local government assets.

Typically working directly with the architect or project manager responsible for the project, we provide the structural engineering design, drawings, certificates, and construction supervision (i.e. inspections for conformance and quality during the build) for local government undertakings. We can also assist with investigations and feasibility reports for existing council assets, e.g. older buildings and facilities in need of refurbishment.

Public amenities, community centres, council assets and more – we’ll address and tackle the required engineering:

Initial site inspection & advice/report
Liaison with the geotechnical consultant (if required)
Engineering advice, preliminary design, recommendations, and concepts
Structural analysis and design
Preparation of structural engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications
Co-ordinating with other disciplines, e.g. stormwater, hydraulic, mechanical, etc
Certificates and reports for Council and/or the certifying authority
Assist the builder during construction
Conformance and quality “sign-off” inspections during the build.
