how we help

AD Consulting Engineers specialises in houses – and we’ve been doing the structural engineering for alterations and additions projects in Sydney for 30 years!

Working with this city’s best architects and builders, AD has been the design/project engineer behind countless residential ‘alts and adds’ house projects, many of which went on to win engineering awards, architectural awards, and building awards.

Detached dwellings, semi-detached, terraced houses, townhouses, garages, attics, wall removals, renovations – we do them all, from the small and simple to the large and difficult.

Working directly with the architect and/or builder, we provide the structural engineering design, drawings, certificates, and construction supervision (i.e. inspections for conformance and quality during the build) for First Floor additions, reconfiguring internal room and wall layouts, extensions out the back or to the side of your house, renovations, new decks, backyard landscaping, swimming pools, or simply knocking out an opening in a wall to create a more open plan for your family’s living area.

Development Application projects (DA) or Complying Development projects (CDC) – we’ll address and tackle the required structural engineering. We can help you with the following:

Initial site inspection & advice/report
Liaison with the geotechnical consultant (if required)
Engineering advice, preliminary design, recommendations, and concepts
Structural analysis and design
Preparation of structural engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications
Certificates and reports for Council and/or the certifying authority
Dilapidation reports on neighbouring properties (if required)
Assist the builder during construction
Conformance and quality “sign-off” inspections
